As time runs out for the Bloggers ng Pinas basic photography seminar last October, the organizers made up for it by setting up a sequel-like meeting which tackled the use of Canva and also the proper usage of social media when it comes to promoting you blog entries. 

And that formally took place nearly a month later at the Globe Plaza in Makati City.

Isang mabuti at masamang balita ang gumalantang noong nakaraang linggo: Isang terorista ang napatay. Pero tila ang kapalit naman nito ay 44 na magigiting na mandirigma. 

Mga mandirigmang ang adhikain ay ipatupad ang batas. Mandirigmang naglalayon lang ng kapayapaan at kaayusan sa ating bansa. Mandirigmang hindi inalintana ang malagim na kakahinatnan ng kanilang misyon; basta alang-alang sa bayan.

Hmmm, ano pa ba nga bang bago? Kada kilos o salita ni Kris Aquino ay paniguradong news item. 

Oo, kahit sa usapin ng pag-unfollow sa mga tao sa social media.

Bakit ganun? Malamang, dahil maliban sa utol ng president natin na at anak ng yumaong president Corazon Aquino at Senador Ninoy Aquino; ay siya lang naman ang isa sa mga pinakamabokang personalidad sa larangan ng showbiz sa Pilipinas.

Kamakailanlang, sa pagiging apketado niya sa mga batikos ng publiko kay Pangylong Noynoy Aquino, nag-unfollow siya ng mga taong sinusundan niya sa kanyang Instagram account. Naglabas pa siya ng isa pang post na tilamay pasaring ukol rito.

At sa palabas niyang Aquino and Abunda tonight, ay may sinuot siya na statement shirt.

New Year's Resolution Kuno

(This is a late post.)

Kung tutuusin, hindi ako naniniwala sa New Year’s Resolution. Dahil para sa akin,para lag itong isang papel na minsan mo lang babasahin, tapos ipapasa kay titser, at hindi mo naman maiisip yun masyado kinabukasan (at kung sakali mangibalik sa iyo ng titser mo ang papel mong naglalaman ng mga “New Year’s Resolution ay baka itapon mo lang din sa basurahan ito ke perfect 100 man ang marka mo o isang tumataginting na palakol).

Nakakapagtataka nga kung bakit pa tayo gawa nang gawa ng mga ganitong bagay samantalang hindi naman natin nasusunod ang mga ito? Maliban na lamang kung isa kang napakadisplinadong mamayan. (Dyan, hanga ako.)

Niloloko lang naman natin ang sarili natin eh.

Flick Review: That Thing Called Tadhana

I first noticed them as part of the Cinema One Originals late last year. Though unfortunately, I wasn’t able to watch them, nor any of its other entries. It was only earlier this year when this film penetrated the mainstream shores, thanks to their film distributor Star Cinema, which also helped films like On The Job, and Hari ng Tondo expand beyond the independent scene by terms of having nationwide releases.

This time around though, I watched a movie with a group of officemates; something different considering that I usually go to cinemas alone; or in case I have a companion, it’s always been my ex-girlfriend. Perhaps, it was a perfect way to set-up a Friday night out; taking an early weekend breakaway from all the stress of the previous four working days.

Also, it’s the first time this year that I watched a movie inside the real venue itself.

That Thing Called Tadhana, a motion picture which stars Angelica Panganiban and JM De Guzman, tackles a certain Mace Castillo’s soul-searching sojourn off a break-up. Wanting a new start away from Rome, she went back to the country and spent days in Baguio and Sagada as she desperately tried to move on from the mishap.

I randomly spotted through the news feed of my Facebook when one of my college friends (who, by the way, is an indie musician) posted a photo containing an event poster: it’s DocDef 61 held 8 PM of January 24, 2015 at Route 196 bar in Quezon City.

That seems interesting as my first impression; considering it’s been a very long while since I attended an underground gig; but actually it felt like first time. Plus the venue was just a mere walking distance from my residence.

It’s been weeks of scoring explosions yet again here in the NBA. Looks like some players really carve their names regardless if they will end up being in the All Star roster or not (which, by the way, will be coming second weekend of February in New York City).

Yes, after Mo Williams scored a season-high 52 points earlier this season (that, by the way, sets highs on his career and franchise as well), how about this—NBA-record 37 points in a single quarter from Klay Thompson?

Is the President really missing in action?

Ito ang tanong na umaalingawngaw nitong nakaraan lang kasunod ng arrival honors sa 44 na mga kapulisang napatay sa engkwentro sa Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

Kung tutuusin, napakadaling itanong o sabihing, "OO, missing in action siya." Pero... ano nga ba ang nangyari kasi?

This post might come too late considering I already made this posting less than 11 hours before the Royal Rumble event itself goes live at the Wells Fargo Canter in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia!

Well, unless you manage yourself to stay away from your own Twitter feed and instead stay glued to your TV sets on Monday evening. That actually may sound an instant segue to a plug-in, but it’s my own prerogative and I don’t need to get paid for it anyway.

Here’s the thing though: We have seen the numbers; those incredible statistics; and those figures which dictated history of the entire royal rumble match.
