It was an arts and music-packed evening last Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Route 196 in Quezon City, as Docdef Productions and Fringe MNL teamed up and brought EDGES possible.
It was a random speculation that was confirmed by a former-DZRH radio announcer yesterday: Mr. John Gemperle, much known as the popular radio personality Papa Jack, resigned from being a decade-long job at 90.7 Love Radio as its DJ.
One Wednesday evening of November 2005: It was during my early days of following the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) when I first took notice on this guy – small in the typical Pinoy basketball player size – with that quickness to put up plays for the Talk ‘N Text Phone Pals against Barangay Gineba San Miguel. The game was then slated at the packed Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City (and how can't I forget the match? I still even have the game's ticket on my archive.)
That guy was known as the “Mighty Mouse,” the Fil-American player named Jimmy Alapag.
Last week, when I checked the latest Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) pay-per-view episode, it was a heck of catfight to cap the month of Feburary in downtown Los Angeles, California. Talk about Ronda Rousey going up for her fifth title defense against the tough top contender Cat Zingano.
But as far as the prediction of a potential all-out war goes, it was unfortunate it ended... in just a glimpse.
I’m not saying this to kiss ass or to ride bandwagon (say, I just wonder: is anyone talking about him in the first place, aside from the people whom were closely related to him, and the music community?). In fact, I admit that I’m not even an avid fan. But I admire this guy a lot; I even remember he’s one of the persons I want to meet as a youngster (unfortunately, it didn’t happen).
EDSA. Minsan tao, madalas kalye.EDSA. Minsan People Power. Madalas, people suffer.EDSA. Minsan malawak. Minsan mahaba.
I’m still on a log-jammed mode, friends. As of this writing, I already made six postings and yet it’s only a third (1/3) of the proposed ones – and damn it; I’m too far behind especially when it comes to things like sports and news.
Say, it’s been a week though since yours truly dropped by at the Philippine Wrestling Revolution’s latest program titled Vendetta.
One of the matches there includes an All-Out War between the team of Mayhem Brannigan and the Apolcalypse and The Royal Flush.
Since I really have a hard time squeezing on my takes for that matter (yes, sorry, laides and gentlemen I have to delay things once again as much as I don’t want to), here’s something I’d like to share. Perhaps on all of the PWR’s events in the Philippines, this stunt was never executed.
Not until the Vendetta comes; and I am talking about Mr. Do or Die jumping off from the top stands.
Just merely 35 nights before the grandest stage of sports entertainment, the World Wrestling Entertainment unleashed another pay-per-view, replacing Elimination Chamber in the process. The road seemed a smooth one as WWE took on the Fastlane.
WWE Fastlane comprised nine segments -- seven matches and two face-off sequences, in front of a not-so-loudly crowd FedEx Forum at Memphis, Tennessee. I wonder how Jerry “The King” Lawler felt that time. Sorry, man.
Sami Zayn gets his hands at the man who once called him as “best friend” but at the same time that turned back on him after winning the NXT championship; while it’s Charlotte and Sasha Banks again for the NXT Women’s championship – plus Bayley and Becky Lynch; and a whole lot more occure4d in this NXT special event known as Takeover Rival.
Stars shone the brightest in New York City during Valentines’ Day for the 2015 NBA All Star Game. Brooklyn provided the festivities for the Friday and Saturday, while the weekend never has been completed with the staging All-Star gamne itself at the epic Madison Square Garden.
At the end, records were shattered with a lot of three-point field goals; and it was the first time the Western Conference All-Stars garnered a victory after the previous four tries at the venue, 163-158.
Say, I won’t give much emphasis on the highlight reels, and other stats since I already posted this almost two weeks late. Let the video do the talking.
