The Ranks: PiliPinas Debates 2016

So we have seen enough. Four televised debates for the 2016 General Elections were staged—three of them were intended for the Presidential candidates, while the remaining one is for the vice-presidential slate.

That being said, every single one of us news-savvy citizens tend to criticize the output by whatever means possible.

And honestly, some of you may not agree with me, but here is my final ranking on which show sucked big time, and which debate stood out the most?

Isang buwan rin ang pagitan ng mga ginaganap na presidential debate na inorganisa ng Commission of Elections (COMELEC), ano? Parang kailan lang, nasa Cagayan De Oro sila sa pagsisimula ng debate-seryeng ito. Samantalang parang kailan lang din ay nasa Cebu sila para sa ikalawang leg nito.

Sa darating na Linggo ng hapon, kung pagbabasehan ay ang oras ng aking pagsulat nito, ay gaganapin ang huling PiliPinas presidential debate sa Dagupan, Pangasinan.

Pero bago ang lahat, ano nga bang nangyari sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas sa Cebu?

As of writing time, Words Anonymous will celebrate their second anniversary by holding a program at the PETA Theater tonight.

Meantime, six weeks ago, yours truly along with my partner Maxim and her friend stormed by SPLICE cafe to watch one of their gigs called Set Us On Fire.

Sometimes, you don’t have to go a hundred or thousand miles away from Manila to see places which are truly beautiful and worth the effort. All you need is to traverse the roads at the nearby provinces, look around, and when you get there, simply appreciate them.

Such as this case when yours truly along with my partner Maxim, stormed by the near-eastern side of Rizal province and witness the beauty of Laguna de Bay at the Lakeside Park.

Hanep sa trip e no? Sinakyan na lamang ng Ace Hardware ang isang kalokohan. Tila swerte na rin sa publicity ang taga-branch nito sa SM City Lucena. Bakit nga naman hindi, eh nagtrend kaya sa social media ang naturang event.

Ito ang panahon ng eleksyon. Panahon para makialam ka sa lipunan kahit minsan lamang sa mahabang panahon. Panahon para magkaroon ka ng paninindigan. Panahon para alamin, tuklaisin, kilatisin, busisiin ang nararapat na maihalal bilang representante ng ating lipunan.

At maaring panahon ito ng pagkakaroon ng hidwaan sa paniniwala o perspektibo pero hindi ibig sabihin nito na panahon rin ito para awayin mo ang hindi sumasang-ayon sa iyo.

2016 has graced a lot of awesome happenings so far, with SUD (with Words Anonymous), Tom's Story, The Anton Molina Project, PAUL, and MilesExperience launched their respective records over the first four months of the year. Also, the likes of MilesExperience, Toni B. and Jensen and The Flips formally graced their music videos.

That being said, for the last two nights of April 2016, we will be witnessing back-to-back EP/album launches that has been making waves at the music scene so far. And here is one of them, is this soul alternative quintet.

Nakakatawa. Maraming nagpapatayan sa argumento kung isa nga bang patawa ang binitawang salita ng tumatakbong presidenteng Rodrigo Duterte o hindi. Kung makapag-akusa ay wagas, para bang ang lilinis ng mga kupal. Yung iba namang dumedepensa, para namang ang daming alam na tama. Okay sana kung talaga namang straight yung facts na nakukuha—at kung talaga namang sumusporta sa kanya eh.
