Eh Ano Naman Kung Taga-UP Ka?

4/28/2015 12:10:05 PM

(As in magaganda naman ang karakter nila.)

Last Save

The Pretake: WWE Extreme Rules 2015

It's about time the World Wrestling Entertainment went over their typical limits once again, as they set their edition of Extreme Rules tomorrow morning (Sunday night at Chicago).

Introducing Randomness by Default

Okay. Since I really have nothing to write much at present, here’s something I’d like to share with you guys for a while.

Since for over the past few months, I spent Saturday evenings somewhere else – if not on either a wrestling event or at an underground music gig – and that is something invoves a words called “podcast.”

The #NaDocdefAko Experience

4/22/2015 4:44:17 PM

Let me start this article with a question: Have You Heard Good Music Lately?

It’s weird that I am doing posts about nightlife recently.

But here’s the thing though: it was only this year when the nocturnal in me just rejuvenated. And I mean rejuvenated by means of staying up all night, hanging out with people, and chilling out with the music playing. The third element was the very most important for me since I can’t live without music at all. Forget all the romantic shiznit (There is FOREVER in music, fools!), and the other harsh reality stuff as well.

Say, what the Helen of Troy am I talking about?

The Scene Around: Jack Daniel's Indie Music Awards

4/20/2015 10:25:27 AM

Two icons, fourteen bands, numerous prestigious honors, and a “chosen one.”

If the mainstream music got The Script down there at the Mall of Asia Arena, then the indie scene had their big thing, too! And it was perfect in two ways: First, to rock the night away; and second, to start the weekend RIGHT. And I mean RIGHT (really!) as Jack Daniel’s staged their first ever JD On Stage Philippines Indie Music Awards at Whitespace Manila last Friday evening, 17 April 2015.

Lookback: PWR Vendetta

4/13/2015 1:44:03 PM

Just over a month from now, the Philippine Wrestling Revolution will celebrate a year of showmanship by its extravagant WrevolutionX this coming May 23.

Before things go beyond the limits of being a rookie though, let’s take a brief lookback... to 2015’s kickstarter named PWR Vendetta.

Inside the Pages: Stupid is Forever

3/5/2015 4:20:47 PM

Just when you thought Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago was more than just a woman legislator with a bunch of quotable quotes that are worthy of every television and radio airtime, hey… guess what? ABS-CBN Publishing compiled a book full of her epigrams and even privilege speeches outside the House.

Satchmi Record Store Week

4/14/2015 5:18:28 PM

I'm not a huge vinyl fan, but I do admire them for some time. And collecting them  could be a missing piece to the puzzle of every music fan (like yours truly).

Over the weekend, I dropped by at the Satchmi Vinyl Day to check out not just the big-circle shapes records on sale, but to see fantastic sets from different musicians as well.

But just when I thought Vinyl Day was just an all-day long affair, I was wrong.

Yes... How about these guys from the country's premier vinyl distribution outlet giving an extension offer, like a Satchmi Record Store Week?

Tirada Ni SlickMaster: The Sagada Swarm

4/12/2015 10:36:55 AM

Nasobrahan ata 'to sa hugot, ah.

The Scene Around: FlipTop Second Sight III

4/11/2015 12:07:15 PM

It’s like five years in the making. I only managed to see them through the videos at YouTube. And even if I had plans to watch them live in the past, unfortunately it didn’t go through.

Photo credit: FlipTop's Official Facebook Page
Not until the 13th of March, though; as yours truly strolled by Makati and found myself watching for the first time—an event by the FlipTop rap battle league called Second Sight III at B-Side in The Collective, Malugay Street, Makati City. Just in front of the Makati City Police District and a bearable walking distance from the Philippine National Railways (PNR) Buendia Station.

Just My Opinion: Urbandub's Disbandment

4/8/2015 8:56:59 PM

Fifteen years in the industry; perhaps a typical life expectancy for a music band; Yes, after one and a half decade, they will part ways.

Sad, right?
